OTUNBA OLUTOYESE OF IJEBU
BABA OBA
Otunba Adedeji Balogun was born at Odo-Egbo, Ijebu-Ode into the Olutoyese Royal Family of Isoku and Awujale/Anikilaya Ruling House of Ijebu-Ode by his late parents, Alhaji Alli-Balogun and Alhaja Adijat Ajilaran. He attended Ansar-Ur-Deen Teachers’ College, Otta and later travelled abroad to study at the Hammersmith College of Building, London where he obtained a Higher Diploma in Building. On his return to Nigeria, he worked with the Old Western Region of Nigeria as a Higher Technical Officer for many years until he voluntarily retired in 1974 to set up his private company, MESSERS ADEDEJI BALOGUN COMPANY LTD. Otunba L. Adedeji Balogun was installed as Otunba Olutoyese of Ijebu on 12th May 1985 and as Baba Oba on 16th April 2001 by HRM, Oba Dr. S. K. Adetona CFR, the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland. Otunba L. Adedeji has served as the Chairman of Ojude-Oba Festival Committee for many years. He is presently the 2nd Vice-Chairman of the Council of Otunbas of Ijebuland. He is happily married with many children.
