Ayodele is the second child of Otunba Osigbuyi Adebisi Osibogun, Fimc, mni the Otunba Fesogabade of Ijebuland, and Late Yeye Otunba Jibola Olatunbosun Osibogun.

He is a grandchild of Chief Josiah Osibogun and his paternal grandmother is Princess Felicia Osibogun, the great granddaughter of the Aremo, (1st daughter) of Oba Ademolu Anikilaya, who was the Awujale, Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland between 1915-1926.

Otunba Ayodele Osibogun was born on the 15th day of August 1965. He attended St. Mary’s Private School, Lagos from where he gained admission into secondary school – St. Gregory’s College, Ikoyi Lagos. He gained admission to study Chemistry in University of Lagos in 1982. He graduated in 1987 with a BSc (Chemistry).

He started his career at Pfizer Pharmaceutical as an analyst, in 1988. In the same year, he joined Elf Oil as a Lubricant Market Officer. He obtained his diploma in Business Administration from the University of Lagos in 1989. In the same year, He was part of the three-man team developed and built the company’s lubricant blending plant. They went on to build the company’s second blending plant in Kaduna. After which he became the Quality Control Co-Ordinator/

In 1994, as Head the Materials Department of the company, he was saddled with the responsibility of buying all material requirements for the company. In 2000, he was promoted to the position of Plant Manager at the Apapa plant. This was during the period Elf Oil and Total Nigeria Plc were undergoing a merger.

He subsequently assumed the post of the Plant Manager at Total Plc. A role that put him in charge of the Total Blending Plant and the Depot in Ijora. His responsibility included the production of all Total lubricants and receipts of white fuels like LPFO AGO up until 2005.

In 2005, Otunba Ayodele Osibogun moved to Oando Plc to head the lubricants division. He was able to move Oando Plc’s lube sales from about 8m litres to 21m litres per annum within 3 years. He resuscitated the old Uni-Petrol blending plant, thereby increasing production capacity required to meet the increased lubricants volumes Oando had achieved due to this new market expansion. This tremendous leap in sales under his supervision did not go unnoticed, so much so, he was promoted to position of General Manager, Operations and Engineering in 2008, making Otunba Ayo Osibogun the No 3 man in Oando Marketing. At Oando, Otunba Ayodele originated, formulated and produced the following Oando products – Oleum Super & Oleum SM. These products are still being sold/marketed by Oando.

In 2009 Otunba Ayo Osibogun stepped out of Oando to form his own company Carbon and Fuels Ltd a company well known for specific quality service in today’s oil marketing sector. He was ordained in 2014 by his Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba S. K. Adetona CFR, JP, the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland.
