Olusegun Adekoya

OTUNBA AGBARUWA OF IJEBU

Otunba Segun Adekoya was born in Mobalufon, Ijebu-Ode, to Pa Joel Adekoya and Madam Comfort Adekoya.

Otunba Adekoya completed his secondary education in Ijebu-Ode Grammar School, after which he proceeded to Belgium to study Economics at the University of Ghent.  He graduated with honours in 1968 and returned to Nigeria in 1969.

In 1970, he set up a company trading in tools and hardware and in 1981 established the first gas cylinder and tanks manufacturing company in West-Africa under the name of Setemec Ltd. 

In 1990 he went into the Real Estate business and finally retired in 2000.

Otunba Adekoya was installed as the Agbaruwa of Ijebu on the 6^th of January 1990.

He is married to Olori Lutgarde Kikelomo Adekoya and they have 4 children and 10 grandchildren.  They now divide their time between Belgium and Nigeria.
