Aderemi Abdul-Bojela
OTUNBA AJUWAKALE OF IJEBU
Otunba Aderemi Abdul-Bojela was born on July 30 1947 in Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria to Alhaji Ganiyu Adeyemi Abdul-Bojela and Alhaja Humani Oladunni Abdul-Bojela.
With a professional career spanning over 40years, he currently sits as
Executive Chairman of United Technologies Limited an engineering/manufacturing
company and Quality Life Improvement Plan (QLIP) a company designed to offer
consumer credit to Clients to purchase made in Nigeria goods.
Otunba Abdul-Bojela
attended St. Jude’s Primary School, Ebute-Metta, Lagos for his Primary
Education, and Ijebu Muslim College Ijebu Ode for his Secondary Education. He
then proceeded to St. Gregory’s College, Obalende, Lagos for Higher School
Certificate. Upon completion of his Secondary Education, he gained admission to
Roosevelt University Chicago, United States of America to study Pre-medicine.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
After graduating, he attended several professional courses in Finance,
Economics and Engineering after which he returned to Nigeria in 1976.
He founded his first company United Technologies Limited in 1978, an
engineering/manufacturing company engaged in the manufacturing and assembling
of air-conditioning and refrigerating equipment under the technical assistance
of Daikin Industries of Japan.
Otunba Aderemi Abdul-Bojela went on to build the first
air-conditioning/manufacturing factory in Ijebu Ode, Ogun state and began
production and distribution in 1980, through S.C.O.A Limited. The company later
commenced and pioneered the production of packaged unit air-conditioners – REMY
in Nigeria.
United Technologies Limited has successfully executed several projects spanning
over a period of 40 years. Some of these projects include but are not limited
to – Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Kano International Airport, Port
Harcourt International Airport, ICAN Student Center, Chartered Bank,
International Court of Arbitration, Lekki, Our Saviours Church, University of
Lagos Multipurpose Hall and many more.
The challenges encountered by United Technologies Limited in local
manufacturing in Nigeria and its drive to find a solution to these challenges
and survive the harsh manufacturing climate prompted its decision to invest in
research and development to create mass consumer credit program.
This research birthed Quality Life Improvement Plan (QLIP) a specialized
consumer credit program offering credit to consumers for acquisition of Made In
Nigeria products. Quality Life Improvement Plan (QLIP) was established to
assist in the survival of local manufacturing by way of inventory disposal
through the availability of consumer credit.
Quality Life Improvement Plan (QLIP) ultimately promotes local manufacturing in
Nigeria, creates jobs through manufacturing, increase government revenue,
transfer technology, increase GDP and improve the quality of life of
Nigerians.
